What's involved with a redesign of your site?

There are some important key points to keep in mind, when planning a website design.

• Easy and logical navigation

Did you notice that as your Block Builder site grew larger, information became more difficult to find? Once you grow beyond a certain point then the standard navbar listing all tier 2 pages may not be appropriate. Visitors need to find what they want quickly and easily, or they will leave to find that info elsewhere. So we look at your current navigation structure, to see if it will continue to fit your needs as the site grows. If that seems unlikely, we will make suggestions to improve things (drop down nav, sectioning the site, etc)

• Design should support, not compete, with your content

A simple philosophy. Yet overlooked by "web designers" who are more concerned with showcasing their talents, than presenting your content in the best possible light. Color scheme is chosen to compliment your site. That may be bright and very "in your face" for a site such as http://www.traphimfeedhimkeephim.com

Or perhaps a relaxing feel to the site is needed? www.los-angeles-alternative-medicine.com is a good example of that.

• A design should look good in all browsers,and at all resolutions

Header	We create a professional full width header. If you have ideas/images that you wish to incorporate in the header, then discuss this with us. There is a lot of time and effort spent in creating your header, as we feel that it's important to create a good impression when a visitor arrives on your site. The header is the first thing they see.
Color scheme	Colors are not randomly chosen because "they look nice" (although that IS important).Color e\affects moosd and emotions. So you need the right color scheme for your website. So all colors used serve a purpose...to tie the look and feel together, and create a subconcious impression on your visitors. It's not just the colors in the header that are important. Link color, text, background images etc all play their part.
Page Layout	Whether you have the fixed or fluid design template, we stick to a 3 column layout (or 2 column, if you prefer, and it's appropriate for your site). Major structural changes to the template (such as you might see in our premium designs) are not included in the basic package. Please discuss your needs with us, we will be happy to offer suggestions.
Navigation	Some sites look best with text links, and section headings. Some don't. Some sites benefit from a horizontal navigation, and again, others don't. We setup the left navigation ready to use. That is ALL your existing links, not just demo links you have to fill in yourself.
Horizontal Nav	We install a basic horizontal nav (such as you see at the top of this page, but color matched to your site). This is an optional (free) extra, as not everyone wants this. However, it's certainly very handy for getting a few links off you left navbar. Things like "contact" "about us" "newsletter" "what's new!" etc.
Homepage changed over	We take the existing content from your homepage, and put it into your new design. If you have RSS setup, then we do that as well. Also your ezine signup box (assuming you have one) is setup on the homepage for you.
Includes created	Once the new look is approved by you, we create all the includes for you. This will typically be the header, top nav, left nav, footer, all Adsense, stat counter or google analytics, and anything else that is best to be done as an include. You will get a full explanation of how they work when you receive your files from us. Don't worry, it's all very easy to understand, but we are happy to provide extra assistance with uploading your first new page, if required.

Note* terms are 50% payable upfront, and remainder on completion. While the price is more than reasonable, I realize not everyone can afford that. I am happy to discuss a payment plan if your circumstances require it.

You can can have all the flash and glitz you like, but if your visitors find it confusing....the navigation is complicated or difficult to use, then they are NOT going to stay long. Present you information in a way that is easy and intuitive to follow, and you just can't go wrong. Basic Design Concious Governance.....Blues and grays can give a "corporate" feel to a website. plenty of whitespace to let the page breathe. The left nav has been dispensed with, as the top links are all that is required for this website. Basic Design Cooking Nook.....if you like cooking then you will love this site. A revamp of the original Block Builder site, the color scheme was retained, but with a twist, and faded edging guiding the eye to the center column. This site features in the Sitesell results page (as do many other sites using this template). Basic Design Old Dog Treats.....A site about dogs. Chocolate browns and white is the color scheme for this site. Basic Design All Things Photography.....A slick photography site, with dropdown custom nav installed. Logo was created from an idea by the site owner, who orinally had a white on black site. This was difficult to read, as was shown by the increased page views once the site was transitioned. Premium Design Vegetable garden guide.....Nice earthy color scheme gives this site an outdoors feel. A standard "3 column" look to the site. Plenty of images make this an enjoyable place to visit. Basic Design Yoga 4 Women.....The template has been adapted for a 2 column design. This gives more whitespace, and allows the page to "breathe". A restful and easy on the eye look to this site (homepage only is up so far). Premium Design All About Abs.....Another 2 column design, but a totally different look that the previous example. the navigation links have been put into logical groups, in div boxes on the left. A faded background is in behind the content area, to add something a little different. Basic Design

Important Note! As I have pretty relaxed usage rights for my template, some other "designers" will tell you they offer a design service for "AJs Template". But if you are going to have your template redesigned, who would you rather have do it for you? Someone who knows all there is to know about how it works (that's myself, and those who I choose to work with), or someone out for easy money? That's a pretty easy choice to make really. So how do you tell if your designer of choice is approved to work with the template? Simple, use the Email Us links on THIS site, to be sure you are dealing with us. I had hoped I wouldn't need to post a notice like this. But unfortunately circumstances mean that I have to. There have been too many cases of a "designer" running into trouble, then telling their client to email me for help. Or the client deciding that they need help from me, after the design is completed. I'm sorry, but I will NOT support work done by others. It is not my responsibility to fix/support design issues created by others. You get full support with work done by us, of course. Bottom line: you can get a site design done anywhere, but any technical issues with the work done are strictly between you and your designer.
